FCW.com: Reviewing the changes

FCW.com -- So we're still working on it

Yes, we shifted over to the new platform. In fact, this is my first post on the new system. (The last one had to be posted by somebody else.) One thing I can tell you -- not that this involves you, but -- it is much more complex to post.

Not everything is working. As I mentioned, some of the links are being fixed. And we largely just moved things over as they were, with some generally minor exceptions.

Some of the changes that you will notice are here on the blogs. To comment, you now need to register. To be honest, I don't know how I feel about that. I think I would generally allow a more open dialogue, but we were having to deal with a ton o' spam. So... let me know your thoughts about registration.

The layout has changed a bit as well. One thing I'm not thrilled with is that, within individual posts, you can't really go to other posts, or back to the main blog, or to other blogs, for that matter. Furthermore, I have always been concerned that there was no way to continue reading blogs on the main page. For example, if you are on the www.fcw.com/blogs/editor page and you go to the bottom, well, it just stops. It actually limits the number of posts I can do in one day because, if I do too many, they just disappear. You can find them, of course, but who would.

So, we are working on stuff. Comments are more than welcome. And we're working on a redesign anyway, so this will likely take place as a result of that.

If you see things you like -- or don't like -- we love the feedback. Also if you see other sites you really like -- or don't like -- let me know that too. We get all sorts of ideas from looking at work done elsewhere.
