Zawatsky led the effort to retire the long-standing FedBizOpps system for contract opportunities and merge its functionalities into the new beta.SAM.gov to make it easier for users to monitor procurement opportunities and participate in the federal acquisition process. She worked with customer agencies and hundreds of focus group members to improve the customer experience, reduce the burden for federal workers and streamline activities for those who do business with the government. The migration of FedBizOpps has had its hiccups but was another critical step toward GSA’s goal of simplifying the government buying and selling process.
