As a commissioner on the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, Clyburn is leading initiatives focused on training and recruiting the next generation of AI talent and ensuring that AI is used responsibly. She has directly contributed to recommendations that have shaped legislation and policy in a number of areas, including self-directed training in advanced technologies at the Defense Department, enhancement of public/private talent exchange programs at DOD and the acquisition of ethically and responsibly developed AI technology. Clyburn is also a strong advocate for ensuring that people with disabilities and those from rural, Native American and low-wealth communities have access to communications technology.
