Networx RFPs emerge at last
GSA officials released the final solicitations for the Networx telecommunications contracts.
After more than a year of debate and development, officials today released the final solicitations for the Networx telecommunications contracts. General Services Administration officials and industry leaders had wrangled for months on details including guaranteed minimum revenue and which services should be required and which should be optional.
"GSA has worked closely with our stakeholders during the development of these [requests for proposals] to ensure that these acquisitions are well-defined and provide federal agencies -- at low cost -- the best telecommunications services and solutions that industry has to offer," said GSA Administrator Stephen Perry, in a written statement.
There are two Networx solicitations. Networx Universal will provide a wide range of services nationwide. Networx Enterprise will provide a narrower group of services in local areas.
Industry responses to the Universal RFP are due Aug. 3. Responses to the Enterprise RFP are due on Aug. 5.
