Cloud-computing help is on the way for agency managers
The National Institute of Standards and Technology's road map is designed to support secure adoption of cloud computing by federal agencies. Comments are due by Dec. 2.
Agencies still struggling with adopting cloud computing may soon have a guide. The National Institute of Standards and Technology has released a draft “road map” designed to provide policy and management guidance. The draft is open for public comment now.
Called "U.S. Government Cloud Computing Technology Roadmap, Release 1.0" (NIST Special Publication 500-293), the document will span three volumes. The first two volumes were released Nov. 2, while the third is still under development, according to FCW's sister publication Government Computer News. The public comment period on the first two volumes is open through Dec. 2.
