Navy and Marine Corps medical personnel are using an interactive training

tool that simulates the conditions of victims caught in a nuclear, chemical

or biological attack.

The product includes full-motion video scenarios to simulate actual

field situations. The videos were filmed during live simulations of terrorist

attacks conducted last year at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

The exercise was made realistic through the use of professional actors

and makeup artists.

The product was developed by C2 Multimedia Inc., a company that develops

electronic learning products. C2 Multimedia delivered the Differentiation

among Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Casualties Defense Management

Interactive Multimedia Training Product — an interactive set of CD-ROMs — to the Naval School of Health Science, Bethesda, Md., on Aug. 18 for evaluation.

The set consists of four compact discs. It will likely be available

on double-sided digital video disk, but digital video disk players are not

yet widely available at Navy bases, industry sources said.

The product runs on most PCs and uses Moving Picture Experts Group-2

video.
