CACI to continue DOD personnel records work
Task order covers Defense Personnel Records Image Retrieval System duties.
CACI International has captured an $11 million task order to continue its work on the Defense Personnel Records Image Retrieval System.
The five-year task order was awarded through the General Services Administration’s Millennia Lite contract. The system provides a Web portal through which the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies can access military personnel records in a digital image format. Authorized users can request records for active, guard and reserve service personnel. The Defense Department’s Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness is the project’s sponsor.
CACI, the incumbent contractor on the personnel system, will provide Web-based integration and support services under the new task order. Specifically, the integrator will provide maintenance and support for the systems’ legacy production software and complete the development of a secure Web site. CACI will also expand the system to provide for the automated routing of document requests.
The CACI-developed system links multiple service personnel systems. CACI initially developed interfaces between the Navy’s Electronic Military Personnel Records System, the Army’s Personnel Electronic Record Management System, the Marine Corps’ Optical Digital Image Records Management System and the VA’s Personnel Information Exchange System, according to CACI. Additional interfaces have been built for the National Archives and Records Administration’s Case Management and Reporting System and with the U.S. Armed Services Center for Unit Records Research, the company said.
