DHS picks Booz Allen for engineering contract

Booz Allen Hamilton has landed a $250 million systems engineering and technical assistance contract with the Department of Homeland Security.

The contract, which supports the Science and Technology Directorate, marks a continuation of work the company has been doing for DHS since 2003. The single-award blanket purchase agreement spans five years. Booz Allen will provide a range of services including program and technical management, technical evaluation, data development and management, and information technology support.

The Science and Technology Directorate serves as DHS’ main research and development arm.

Gary Labovich, a Booz Allen vice president responsible for the company’s civilian agency systems business, recently cited homeland security as the government market that shows the most promise for the company.

Booz Allen is seeing many procurements and task orders out of DHS and other agencies with responsibility for security, Labovich said.
