Justice awards Keane new IT task order
It calls for Keane and its partners to provide IT support services to Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services Management System.
The Justice Department has awarded Keane, a business process and information technology services firm, a task order to provide IT support services to the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Management System.
The task order was awarded through Keane’s existing Justice IT Support Services contract.
According to a statement from Keane, the $14 million task order covers one base year plus four, one-year options.
During that time, the Boston-based integrator will provide a full-range of IT services -- including IT program management and application maintenance, help-desk support, and network operations -- for the COPS Management System (CMS), which oversees the agency’s grant-making process and other business services.
Since 1995, COPS has invested $11.9 billion to advance community policing, providing nearly 36,000 state and local grants to hire more than 118,000 police officers and provide numerous technical assistance resources.
The CMS work will be performed by Keane’s Public Sector practice. Turner Consulting Group and Apptis are partnering with Keane.
“Law enforcement has found community policing to be a critical component in responding to crime, gang activity, and homeland security,” said Carl Peed, director of COPS at Justice, in a statement.
“CMS will allow Department of Justice users to more effectively manage the life cycle of the grants process, from issuance to search, to approvals in a data protected environment,” said Glenn Giles, vice president and general manager of Keane's Public Sector practice.
